Rumparooz Reusable Cloth Pocket Diaper Review
With the birth of our first newborn, I was looking into some affordable reusable diapers especially after reading about the detrimental effects of disposable ones. A close friend raved about these diapers and I ordered them on a whim after seeing the variety of stylish colors and patterns I could affix to my baby’s botton. I am incredibly glad about this impulsive decision. After half a year, and the purchasing of other brands of cloth diapers, I am now convinced that these diapers are in the upper percentile of cloth diapers, in my opinion, out scoring even the self-proclaimed bumGenius diapers. Allow me to enumerate the ways that I find these Rumparooz diapers to be in a class of their own.
First and foremost, they are incredibly secure and robust, those interior gussets do the job like no other brand I’ve tried. There has been no leakage whatsoever, which is very convenient seeing as I don’t want to go back to the old disposable diapers. Second, they are extremely soft and comfy. I can only imagine how soft these must feel to a newborn and I would suppose that such a diaper would fall outside the realm of moderate comfort. I would even suggest that they are so comfortable that they might even spur diaper snobbery in the child and even in yourself. I am not being facetious; The importance of comfort cannot be underestimated.
As many have said, they are are also painless to wash. With other diapers, washing tends to be quite the chore, especially since it takes quite a long time to really get them clean enough to go into the wash. With the Rumparooz, the act of diaper washing isn’t anything to really fear at all, it is fairly simple, as the diaper does wash out fairly easily. Once they are completely dry, they are ready to go again whenever it’s time to slip one on the baby. Since you do need a fair amount of them, unless you are wanting to wash diapers out a couple times a day, it is important that you do make sure that you wash them all at once, usually without other clothes, in order to make sure they get very clean. Same thing with drying them, if you dry them as a group with no other clothes in the dryer, you should be fine.
These things will most definitely hold their value over time. I suspect you could even resell them on Craigslist or eBay, but if you have more than one kid in the future, you might as well hold onto them because it is hard to believe that cloth diaper technology is going to come much further than it already has. That is how good I believe these diapers really are, I plan on using them for the time being, and for any other kids we may have. I’d suggest other parents do the same thing we are doing, we got rid of expensive disposable diapers and went to something more financially, and environmentally, friendly.
